Lexie Worboys

Lexie Worboys is a 22-year-old emerging artist born and based in Awabakal country, Newcastle Australia. For as long as Lexie can remember she has loved to create.

Last year Worboys's completed the Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts at Newcastle Art School. While studying her work was exhibited in ‘Collect’ at The Lock Up, Leda Gallery, MAC Yapang, and at Newcastle Art Space for the Hunter Emerging Art Prize, where she won her first art prize in the youth category!

Recently her practice has been ignited by old family photographs, particularly the ones which capture celebration and explore these scenes and memories primarily through drawing and painting.

This year [2024] Lexie was awarded the HIC Services Artist Residency Award at Creator incubator! Where she has her own studio space for the next 12 months, followed by a solo show in 2025 to conclude the residency!
