Sandy Sanderson
I’m Sandy Sanderson, an experimental, research-based artist. My practice is process-driven, combining art, science, technology, philosophy, and ritual. Through my work, I explore relationality with nature and its invisible forces, as well as the boundaries between the organic and the synthetic.
As an interdisciplinary artist with a focus on concept, I draw from a wide range of mediums, including installation, soft sculpture, film, photography, and both new and traditional technologies, to articulate my ideas.
My experience with chronic pain has moved my practice to prioritize conceptual depth and collaborative practices. My works are a homage to the awe and wonder I feel for the Earth and are an acknowledgment that we are always in conversation with the unseen forces that shape our reality.
