Sarah Chisholm
Sarah Chisholm is a fibre and installation artist based in Newcastle since 2024.
Working across loom weaving, found object sculpture, projections and sound, Sarah creates works and 3D installations that explore our relationship with nature, the state of the planet and identities.
From 2018 -2024 Sarah was living and working in Saint Denis, in the northern suburbs of Paris. She studied textiles and tapestry weaving for 5 years, moving into 3 dimensional woven sculptures.
During this time Sarah worked out of studios at L’Orfeverie and La Briche, and exhibited at HCE Galerie.
Since moving to Newcastle in 2024, Sarah was 2025 Artist in Residence at The Fibre Makers Studio, Brough House, in Maitland. And has exhibited there, and at the Lighthouse at Nobbys.
Prior to moving to France, Sarah was involved in the co-design and development of environmental repair spaces and social enterprises that work at the intersection of social and environmental justice. The Tinkerage, Green Connect, Resource Recovery and The Social Oufit
Since 2019, Sarah has focused largely on her artistic practice.
