Exploring memory, nostalgia, and celebration through painting and drawing, inspired by old family photographs.

Lexie Worboys, our 2024 HIC Services Artist Residency Award (HIC_ARA) recipient, presents Apricots and Coincidence, a solo exhibition in the Little Space.

"None of us would be here, if not for coincidence. And, for some of us, we also owe to apricots."

Lexie Worboys has spent the past 12-months at The Creator Incubator, developing her practice with the support of a dedicated studio space, mentorship, and a thriving creative community.

Her residency culminates in Apricots and Coincidence, a solo exhibition exploring memory, nostalgia, and celebration through painting and drawing, inspired by old family photographs. This milestone exhibition not only marks the conclusion of Lexie’s residency but also serves as a launchpad for the next stage of her artistic career, and highlights the impact of HIC_ARA in fostering emerging talent and providing a platform for artistic expression.

Made possible by the generosity and support of HIC Services and the Bynon family. The 2025 HIC_ARA recipient will also be announced on opening night!

We at The Creator Incubator acknowledge that we are meeting and working on the traditional country of the Awabakal and Worimi peoples. We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs, and continuing relationship with the land, and that they are the proud survivors of more than two hundred years of dispossession - land never ceded.
