Fugue

Anthony Luck
Anthony Luck makes a tentative summation of personal condition, past and present, through revisiting events through the lens of creative expression.
In psychology, a Fugue state is a dissociation with one’s own identity. With music, the definition involves the interweaving of different voices in a contrapuntal, polyphonic composition.
Anthony Luck mines a mixture of visual material and amalgamates them with his own photographs to compose an unconscious aesthetic world in his solo exhibition “Fugue”. Within this process, he delves into the intricacies of his own identity.
Engaging in active observation and curating imagery helps him counteract an obsessive monitoring of the self. The discourse of these two poles forms the ethos of his art. In a way, this body of work is somewhat a scrapbook of personal experience.
