HIC_ARA Finalists 2026

For the first time, our four finalists for the HIC Services Artist Residency Award will come together in a dedicated Finalist Exhibition, presented in the Little Space at The Creator Incubator. 

Featuring work by Megan Farquhar, Keegan Evans, Ella Thomas and Deanah Allen, this exhibition offers audiences an opportunity to engage more deeply with each artist’s practice and the ideas that shaped their residency proposals. Together, the works reflect the breadth, ambition and strength of this year’s submissions. 

Presented alongside current award holder Sandy Sanderson’s knockout solo exhibition 'Sky Rivers' in the Big Space, together these exhibitions highlight the ongoing impact of the residency while looking ahead to its next recipient. The 2026 award winner will be announced at 6:30pm on Saturday, March 7. 

We invite our community to join us in celebrating the finalists and the vital role this award plays in supporting artists to develop, experiment and take risks within an independent, artist-run context.
