HIC Services Artist Residency Award Application

This exciting residency opportunity will be offered to an emerging or early-career artist who would benefit from a studio at The Creator Incubator (TCI) for a 12-month period. The selected artist will also benefit from the immersion into a vibrant art community and will work alongside other emerging, established and renowned artists. A studio at TCI also includes access to the shared machine workshop and will conclude with a solo exhibition in the Little Space gallery.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Applications Close: 11:00pm, Sunday 16th February, 2025

Shortlisted Artists Notified: Thursday 20th February, 2025

Shortlisted Artists Interviews: 24th - 28th February, 2025

Announcement of Award Recipient: 6:30pm, Saturday 8th March, 2025

Studio Residency Duration: 1st April, 2025 - 31st March, 2026

End of Residency Exhibition: March, 2026

HOW WILL THE RESIDENCY BENEFIT YOU?

Please propose how the residency will benefit your practice and how you plan to utilise the studio and the facilities at The Creator Incubator (300 words max)

CURRENT WORK

CONDITIONS:

The HIC Services Artist Residency Award (HIC_ARA) Recipient:

• Is expected to be professional and present and working in their studios regularly (hours to be agreed upon with TCI Director) and they are expected to contribute to the community of artists and makers.

• Lives in the region and is within reasonable travel distance to the studio.

• Will acknowledge The Creator Incubator and the HIC_ARA in social media and any media engagement during residency.

• Will be available for Open Days and TCI special events.

• Willing to participate in publicity about the award.

• Is required to hold a solo exhibition in The Creator Incubator Little Gallery Space, at the conclusion of the residency.

Notes:

• The Artist in Residence Award 2025, does not include accommodation.

• Current staff, residents of TCI or previous recipients are not eligible to enter.

• HIC_ARA is open to emerging and early career artists including students.

• Previously applicants are strongly encouraged to re-apply.
